Chris Cruz was at first a stay-at-home Mom when she signed up for her first painting class over 30 years ago. She was looking for something creative and fun to do.
She was introduced to the power of the paint brush and was hooked from then on. The vibrant colors reminiscent of her Caribbean and Florida living was the perfect setting for her to let loose and express herself in a visual way that words could not tell.
She is recently retired and relocated to Alabama to be near her family. You can find her in Chelsea teaching art classes -- most recently Oak Mountain State Park, Alabama Art Supply, Forstall Art Supply and the Shelby County Art Association. She also does group painting parties to stimulate creativity in those that are interested in art.

Collectors of her work have said that her paintings are fun, different and always have a happy feeling to them that people love.

She offers painting parties around town and helps raise money through Art Auctions. Chris has won numerous awards and people who collect her work say they bring a smile to their faces.

Chris is a member of the Mountainbrook Art Association, Shelby County Arts Council, Central Alabama Arts Association and The Middle Tennessee Decorative Artists Group.
